I am thankful for your goodness in my life. You truly have satisfied my mouth with laughter. See how far YOU have brought me!
On this day Sept 13, 2019, 7 years ago, God wiped ALL my tears away and gave me a new song! It had been a journey. You see, I had my first child 6.5 years earlier and we had been trying for another since June 2017. I had been through 3 miscarriages and 1 still birth by July 2018. I had buried my daughter and I was broken. I had given up having any other babies; God had blessed me with one child and I was happy and content. To my surprise I found out in early 2019 that I was pregnant again. Anyone who has lost a pregnancy knows that once that happens, no other pregnancy is ever the same - yours or another’s. You appreciate pregnancy for the miracle that it is! The pregnancy came with its own challenges but I trusted God. On September 9, 2019, I walked into the hospital for my regular OB appointment. My blood pressure was 208/106! The doctor starred at me and asked if I was feeling okay - I felt fine! Anyway, I was admitted into hospital and somehow I knew I wasn’t leaving without my baby. On September 11, 2019, the doctors did a scan and determined that I was okay to have the baby the following day but there was an issue - the baby was in breech position. I had two options, schedule a CS for September 12 or perform a manual inversion to attempt to turn the baby head down and then induce labor. I opted for the latter because I knew the recovery from a CS was much harder than a natural birth. I was warned that the manual inversion would be painful but it could be done. I was so scared!!!! I had been joining the Hallelujah challenge and so as usual, in my hospital bed, I plugged my earphones into my laptop and sang along!!!! I spoke to my baby and asked my baby to shift into normal position. I believed! I felt my baby move and by “instinct", I pushed and guided the movement. I thanked God and went to bed. On September 12, 2019, the doctors came in to perform the manual inversion. The procedure is done with the guidance of an ultrasound. They prepped me and then did the ultrasound to check the baby’s position. They saw that my baby was now in the correct position!!!! The report on file said that the manual inversion was completed successfully BUT the doctors AND I know that NO manual inversion occured because JESUS did it!!!! You would think that was testimony enough! NOPE! I was then induced later on in the day and the hospital staff were monitoring the process and progress of my labor. As they increased the medication, my baby's heartbeat would drop! As time progressed, they would try again and the heartbeat would drop again. They even switched up the methods they were using to induce me. The results were the same!!!! This would continue for another 16 hours!!! At 6:00 a.m. on September 13, 2019, the doctors came in and said that my baby did not like the medications or methods and so I would need to have a CS after all. Less than 2 hours later, I had my baby!!!!!! You would think that was testimony enough! NOPE I stumbled upon my discharge papers a few months ago. To my surprise, I realized that when they made the incision for the CS, my baby’s head was flexed and so if I had tried to have my baby naturally, it would have resulted in birthing a dead child!!!! Also, when my baby was born, my baby wasn’t breathing!!!! The report shows a muscle tone of 0 and respiration of 0!!!!! They sprang into action and transferred the baby to a respiratory team. Thankfully, the team was able to resuscitate my baby and within 5 minutes my baby was breathing on their own. My baby was also born at 36 weeks plus 2 days - a late preemie as they call them. THIS IS THE COMPLETE TESTIMONY!!!!! That I walked into the hospital seemingly okay but clearly in trouble, gave birth to a dead baby but God said NO!!!!! I went home with my late preemie without spending a single day in intensive care! GOD truly has been good to me. Each year, I recall the goodness of God and this year is extra special because I stumbled on the discharge papers! But GOD!!!!!!! But GOD!!!!!!! So thankFULL to HIM!
